Want a Target?

Important Update!

As of 12-27-2013, original vintage paper targets are again available for collaging! If you would like one, please join the Project's Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/161991817319872/,
then note me with your postal address. I'll pop a target in the mail posthaste. If you are not a denizen of Facebook, you may contact me through this blog.
(Of course if you work in digital collage, you may download the target file below.)
Thanks for participating,
Laura Tringali Holmes

-----------

Alas, the original paper targets are long gone, but here is a file for printing out or digital work. A few scuffs with sandpaper, a light wash of tea, and a few minutes in a toaster oven to raise the paper grain work well for distressing. For paper purists, I am attempting to recover unused targets previously sent out to artists who won't be using them--please get in touch with me if you'd like to be on the Paper Target Waiting List. Please make sure to read the Project's backstory under the "About the Project" tab, which will also direct you to the Facebook group where I ask that you post your work for all to enjoy. This will also put you in the queue for being featured here.

  1. Laura, I'd like to upload some Target Practice artwork, but I don't see how. Can you help?

  2. Hi, and thanks for your interest in the Project! Nobody can post to the blog (or to the Daily Target Tumblr for that matter) except me. Direct uploads of target collages happen in the Facebook group, which is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/161991817319872/. From there, I grab the images to post here on the blog and on Tumblr. Are you a Facebook denizen? No problem, if not. There are ways around that.

  3. Laura, thanks for the response. Although I think of myself as minimally Facebook savvy, I don't see how to upload to the FB site. And although I tried to join, I don't show up in the members. What am I not understanding? Thanks for helping me with this. I hope when you see my work you will feel like it was worth the effort. Ira

    1. Hmmmm...just checked and didn't see you on the list of people asking to join the group. Could you navigate to the group again and find the join button? When I hit "accept," a tool bar should appear with an area that invites you to upload your work. Alternatively, you could do the friend request thing with me and then I can add you to the group that way.

  6. Hi Laura,
I have a pending request for the FB group and was wondering if you could add me. I've downloaded the target and have been busily working on some material that I'd love to share. Look forward to hearing from you. Peter
